2021-2025 Council Term
THE LAST FOUR YEARS

The last four years on Council have been about one thing: putting people first. Every decision, every project, every conversation has been guided by one question—how can we make Coalhurst better for families, for businesses, for every resident who calls this town home?
When I joined Council, Coalhurst was at a place where its size had surpassed the resources and services in place to sustainably support it. Our town had heart, but our planning and services weren’t keeping pace. I knew we needed to be bold, smart and intentional, so I rolled up my sleeves and got to work. I listened to residents, asked the tough questions and pushed for decisions that protect the small-town character we love while preparing for the future.
Putting Families and Community First
Coalhurst is more than a town—it’s a community. I’ve supported programs and events that bring people together, created spaces where kids can play safely and built opportunities for neighbours to connect. From local celebrations to upgraded recreational spaces, every project has been about making life better for families.
Supporting Businesses and Smart Growth
Our town’s future depends on more than homeowners, it depends on thriving businesses and balanced growth. I’ve fought to welcome new growth, support home-based businesses and ensure development is smart and sustainable. Housing studies and planning initiatives aren't just reports, they are tools to grow Coalhurst without losing what makes it special.
Making Coalhurst Feel Like Home
It’s the little things that make a big difference. Beautification projects, upgraded parks and well-planned green spaces shape how our town feels every day. I’ve worked to make Coalhurst not just functional but welcoming; A place residents are proud to call home.
Strengthening Council and Accountability
Good leadership is doing the hard work behind the scenes. I’ve pushed to modernize policies, restructure committees and improve how Council communicates. These changes make Council more transparent, accountable and effective, so residents know their voices matter and their tax dollars are respected.
Keeping Coalhurst Safe and Connected
Safety isn’t just policies; It’s peace of mind. I’ve supported partnerships with the RCMP and shared CPO services to keep Coalhurst secure. Residents tell me they feel safer knowing Council is paying attention and that’s the standard I fight to deliver.
Protecting Taxpayers
I approach budgets with one principle: make every dollar count. Through rising costs and inflation, I’ve worked to protect families, use reserves wisely and leverage grants wherever possible. Fiscal responsibility isn’t just numbers, it’s respect for the people who make Coalhurst thrive.
These past four years have been about more than bylaws and policies—they’ve been about people, pride and progress. I’m running for Mayor to keep building on this work, to keep listening and to keep putting Coalhurst first.
